Kenneth Smith Jr. was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Deacon Kenneth Sr. and Sandra Smith. 

 

Kenneth’s musical aptitude developed from the age of 8 when he began playing the piano by ear. As an adolescent, Kenneth continued to foster his talent even while having success in sports, but eventually embraced the call of God for ministry in music.

 

During his teenage years, Kenneth received extensive and career-altering musical training under his mentor, the late Christopher Philips at his childhood church, Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Dr. WM Ramsey. Subsequently and with the blessing of his mentor, Kenneth began serving as Minister of Music at the age of 20.

 

God continued to cultivate and develop Kenneth in teaching and leadership in music, ministry and biblical studies. 

 

In 2003, Kenneth graduated from the historical Dillard High School of Performing Arts. Following, he graduated from SAE Miami in 2007.

 

In 2007, Kenneth was ordained a deacon under Dr. Ramsey. In April of 2010, the Lord transitioned Kenneth to serve at the New Mount Olive Baptist Church, under the Pastoral Leadership of Dr. Marcus Davidson and Musical Leadership of Dr. Eddie Robinson. Kenneth served for five years as the Associate Director of Music.
